Meet the Team

Spring 2026 roster for Stelios Bocce League

Alex photo

Alex

"Southern Paw-ty"

Hailing from Tennessee, Alex rolls in with husband James and her two VIPs—Winnie and Tiger Lilly—arriving in either a stroller or backpack like true bocce royalty. She’s all “bless your heart” and sweet Southern manners… until the pallino drops. Then it’s smooth shots, subtle sass, and a polite smile while she beats you. Y’all are doing great, though.

Emily photo

Emily

"The Charles Wrangler"

Emily arrives ready to roll—and ready to untangle Charles, who treats every match like his personal obstacle course. Rocking a fanny pack full of dog treats, she’s quickly become everyone’s favorite (especially the four-legged crowd). Between leash dodges and snack distribution, she somehow still hits clutch shots—keeping the vibes high and the chaos just barely under control.

James

"Wildcat Roller"

Southern gentleman by nature and Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan at all times, James brings calm, friendly energy to the court. Rolling with Alex, Winnie, and Tiger Lilly, he’s all smiles and “after you”—until it’s his turn, then it’s quiet focus like he’s taking the final shot at Rupp Arena. One half of the legendary Collings Casino bocce duo, he’s equal parts charm and clutch—easygoing, kind, and just sneaky enough to ruin your score when it matters most.

Laura photo

Laura

"Mamma Mia Meowballer"

Serving up pure ✨Mamma Mia!✨ energy, Laura turns every bocce match into a full-on performance. Fueled by Taco Bell and a deep love for Broadway, she brings precision and just the right amount of chaos to the court. Off the field, she’s living her best life with Sam and their two cats, probably humming show tunes and plotting her next big win. One thing’s certain—when the spotlight hits, this Meowballer does not miss.

Nevin photo

Nevin

"Wrigley Roller"

Nevin rolls in as the rookie of the squad, but don’t let the “new guy” label fool you—he’s got something to prove and a grounds crew work ethic to back it up. By day he’s out there with the Chicago Cubs keeping the field pristine, so you know he’s judging every bocce surface like it’s Wrigley itself. Big baseball guy energy—every throw is Game 7, bottom of the 9th, full count. Meanwhile the rest of the team is just trying to hold a drink and remember the score.

Rachel photo

Rachel

"Calendar Commish"

Rachel runs this team like a well-oiled Google Calendar—if you didn’t RSVP, that’s on you. As captain, she keeps everyone organized, accounted for, and is known to book a spontaneous trip and return just in time (or suspiciously close) to first throw, she operates on vibes, flight deals, and calendar invites. Equal parts chaos and control, she’ll herd the team, track the score, and somehow still be the one asking, “wait… what are we playing to again?”

Sam photo

Sam

"‘Stache on Tap"

Chicago born-and-brewed, Sam shows up tall, mustachioed, and holding a craft beer like it’s part of the uniform. He’s already made friends with every team before the first throw and somehow knows everyone’s name by round two. Friendly to all, but once the pallino drops he turns into a full-on bocce scientist—locked in & dialed up. He’s the one who always knows the score & what’s happening, like a one-man bocce scoreboard with vibes.
